# fakeprinter Bunch of Python scripts made to host fake printer-like services. The idea I had was to turn a Kali box into a more convincing "innocent printer on the network", so I made this to add on top of using a spoofed MAC address and a generic HP printer's hostname. Includes some common HP printer services like JetDirect, IPP, and a web port that always throws a 401 Unauthorized. Still a work-in-progress. Need to add more ports and fix up some stuff, but it's difficult when you don't have a real network printer to compare against. The scripts are designed to just create a thin mask over what your device really is. Tools like `snmpwalk` may not work when run against the endpoint (unless I take the time to spoof a bunch of SNMP OIDs to return or smth). Plus, if someone's scanning your endpoint that hard anyway, you were probably too loud and you've likely got bigger problems. # Example Nmap service scan against open ports ![image1 (1)](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/60602657-5e67-46d7-9bc7-806719866570) Creating a systemctl service to run on startup ![image (2)](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/efae5237-af25-4eb5-bb33-d7e132d5e6b7)
